Kshitij is another addition to a Marathi film that puts into focus the abject conditions of farmers in India. Even in a so called advanced state like Maharashtra the farmers are still majorly poor. Just to feed their stomachs the whole of a farmer family has to toil in the fields and this includes children as well. In this hand to mouth existence the education of the toddlers is sacrificed. And worst among them is the condition of girls. Even in the 21st century educating a girl is not considered to be important.
