He in a very short span carved a niche for himself in Bollywood and established his credentials as a true action hero, a spot earlier occupied by big names like Suneil Shetty, Mithun Chakraborthy and many more in the hay days of Hindi cinema. Jammwal has also made his mark in southern language movies where he has gone on to play villian and second fiddle to huge stars like Vijay, Ajith and others along with being a lead hero in Bollywood. Jammwal in a short career has also had many recognitions by going on to feature in lists like The Most Desirable Men by Times of India, Most Sexiest Man Alive and others at different years.

Vidyut Jammwal was born to an army man in Jammu and Kashmir. His childhood had him travelling all across India due to his father’s job demands, wherein he developed a taste for martial arts and went on to acquire a degree in martial arts. He then went on to travel around the world. At the age of twenty five he performed live action shows which was an unexplored event as of then which made him popular among the masses. Jamwal then shifted base to Mumbai to try his hand at Bollywood and after a brief modelling stint went on to make his film debut in the year 2011.

Vidyut Jammwal is also an active figure who sets out his free personal time in training for college going girls and working professionals at various places as part of an initiative.

Film debut and rise to prominence ( 2011-2012) Vidyut Jammwal had his very first film in Telugu with the movie historical drama flick Shakti which had him in a supporting role. Then onwards, he went on to make his official lead entry with John Abraham’s cop thriller flick Force which had him playing a in and out negative character who sets out to wreck vengeance against a group of officers behind his brother’s death by any way possible. The huge success of the movie gifted much fame to Jammwal in a blink of an eye with many critics citing his screen presence to be too demanding for a newcomer. The movie clearly set out his credentials in working in action oriented films in the near future. His next releases were the Telugu outings like Shakti and Oosaravelli both of them having him in supporting roles. However Jammwal had a major turnaround in the year 2012 when he was cast as the main antagonist in Ajith’s sequel gangster thriller Billa 2: The Beginning , his role of a mafia man in the movie brought him wide spread acclaim and got him noticed even in south Indian industry. Back to back films in Tamil ( 2012) Jammwal then went on to play the villian to actor Vijay in the Tamil vigilante thriller flick Thuppaki which saw him coming up with some classy punch lines and adding on his popularity down south. His all guns blazing attitude coupled with a composed charm made him an overnight success in Tamil cinema. Career turnaround and ensuing releases ( 2013-2016) Vidyut Jammwal was then roped in to play the male lead in Dilip Gosh’s action thriller film Commando- A One Man Army in the year 2013. The movie saw him playing an Indian army commando who gets trapped in China after an awry accident only to be on the run to prove his identity after a series of mishaps. The movie showcased the action freak in Jamwal to the Hindi audiences and he garnered wide spread positive reviews for single headedly pulling of the majority of action sequences which were the highlights of the movie with much panache.
