The glitz and glamour of Bollywood is a tempting one, as once you enter it, you will almost never want to leave! Something about the big screen attracts millions to try out their luck in acting and movies. However not all have gained success. The ones who have, lasted for decades and made their mark like Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Rekha, etc. While there are others who gained stupendous success but have been only a film or two old like Bhagyashree (Maine Pyar Kiya) and Gayatri Joshi (Swadesh), among others.
There are others who have created a niche for themselvesin Bollywood but have chosen to go on the unbeaten path of the small screen. And of course why not, since it brings them closer to the audience and they get to see their favorite actors almost every week, as compared to the big screen. If we think of such celebrities one name that comes to our mind almost immediately is Amitabh Bachchan of Kaun Banega Crorepati and Salman Khan of Bigg Boss. However did you know that there are also those that tried their hand at the small screen but failed to make the same impact?
Hrithik Roshan at the peak of his careerand popularity decided to jump onto the small screen by hosting ‘Just Dance’. The show started off well but somewhere didn’t quite pull enough trps for the show. Priety Zinta hosted the Guinness Book of World Records where the audiences couldn’t get enough of her bubbly and vibrant personality but the show didn’t match up to their expectations. Akshay Kumar put on an apron with well known chefs Kunal Kapoor and Ajay Chopra for Master Chef India, but we all know how that went.
As long as there are interesting ideas and shows on the small screen, our Bollywood stars will try their luck, because the shelf life of Bollywood actors is much less than it is for the small screen stars!
