Homebound is one of the recently released movies of the drama genre. This new film’s story is about the two childhood friends. The film’s story begins with the two childhood friends Chandan Kumar and Mohammed Shoaib Ali, who both share the same dream of becoming brave and fearless policemen. The story is set against the backdrop of North India. It starts with Shoaib, a Muslim, and Chandan a Dalit, who are both lifelong best friends. They both get driven by the desperate hope of securing a decent living and escaping the ingrained discrimination and hereby, both of them embark on a journey to a nearby city to seek a handful of government jobs as police trainees. They both optimistically believe that this official uniform will shield them from the prejudices of the religion and caste. While, their initial hopes soon face the harsh reality of a year passing without an official answer, that leaves them in a agonizing social and financial limbo.
Later, the story vividly sketches on their domestic lives in their tiny village while revealing about their generational plights. Then, Shoaib faces a sudden, urgent financial pressure; his disabled father’s impending knee surgery, that signifies he cannot work in the fields anymore, that puts a question mark on Shoaib’s career, as he insists on becoming a police officer. This sudden tragedy in his life makes his dream nearly impossible, because he wants to complete his dream and at the same time he wishes to stay close to his family and community. What will happen further? How will Shoaib deal with this situation? Will Chandan help him to overcome this difficulty? This is one of the recent movie releases that has entertained the audiences through its drama, thrill and suspense with the cinematic visuals and an inspirational storyline.
