“Idi Minnal Kadhal” is a 2024 Tamil thriller suspense film written and directed by debutant Balaji Madhavan and produced under Pavaki Entertainment. The main cast includes Ciby Bhuvana Chandran, Bhavya Trikha, and Yasmin Ponnappa.
The plot revolves around “Aran” (Ciby), a man torn with remorse after being party to a hit-and-run crash that results in the death of an innocent bystander, Hrithesh. Hrithesh had left behind his little son Abhi, who has no clue about the loss and is eagerly expecting his return.
Though Aran wishes to own up to his crime, his girlfriend “Janani” (Bhavya Trikha) dissuades him from speaking out, lest it destroy his future and their aspirations to emigrate. “Raja” (Jagan), a local mechanic, agrees with Janani, so Aran keeps his conscience under wraps.
In the meantime, Abhi, alone, takes solace in his neighbor, “Anjali” (Yasmin Ponnappa), who is a sex worker. While he attempts to deal with his father's absence, the police tell him that Hrithesh was killed in a hit-and-run accident, but they have no information about the driver.
What Abhi does not know is that his father owed money to a cold-blooded moneylender named Arul Pandian, who is not just violent but also has creepy tendencies. Now that Hrithesh is away, Abhi is his next victim. Abhi, now isolated and helpless, has to deal with a psychopathic villain without anyone to save him.
While Aran wrestles with his conscience, Janani battles to save their future, and Abhi fights for survival, their lives become entangled in a suspenseful and emotional ride. Will Aran step forward and own up? Will Abhi escape the clutches of Arul Pandian? Or will fate take another heartless turn?
