Viju lives a poor lifestyle with his mother in Panaji, Goa. His mother teaches music to make ends meet. One day the beautiful Mary, comes from Bombay to Goa for her vacations to meet her brother David. Mary belongs to a rich family and her brother is a wealthy landlord. While there, she meets Viju and both fall deeply in love with each other. When David comes to know of this affair, he is angry and beats up Mary. Meanwhile
David also molests their maid and gets away with it. Having had enough of his horrible behavior, his wife decides to let Viju and Mary unite and helps them. However the road to their love is not so easy and they will have to endure many difficulties in their path. The film is directed by Bharathi Raja and produced by Rajendra Kumar. The music is composed by R D Burman and the screenplay is written by Bharathiraja. The star cast includes Danny Denzongpa, Rajendra Kumar, Bina, Kishore, Tanuja, Praveena, Roopali and Sunita.
