Synopsis

Pankh is a 2010 Bollywood film directed by Sudipto Chattopadhaya with Bipasha Basu, Lilette Dubey, Mahesh Majrekar and Ronit Roy in the key roles. The film was based on a real life case involving the child actor Ahsaas Channa who worked in Hindi movies. The movie dealt with the theme of a child artist who is passed off as a girl in movies at his young age and his troubled growing up. Pankh is a stark tale of a boy who used to dress up as girls in movies as a child actor and everyone around considers him to be a girl, However things take a wild turn as he grows up and desires to launch himself as a hero in movies and he indulges in drug abuse due to a tough time at his home. He then sees mental images of a girl whom he is in love with and imagines himself talking and fighting with her. The movie ends in a tragic note with the ultimate disaster happening to him on his attempt to become an actor. The movie failed to make much fuss at the time of its release.
