Pokkhirajer Dim is a 2025 Indian Bengali-language science fantasy film directed by Soukarya Ghosal and produced by Jio Studios and SVF Entertainment. Serving as a thematic sequel to Ghosal’s acclaimed Rainbow Jelly (2018), the film stars Anirban Bhattacharya as Batabyal, an eccentric mathematics teacher, alongside Mahabrata Basu as Ghoton, a struggling student seeking mastery in mathematics. Anumegha Banerjee reprises her role as Poppins, while international actor Alexx O’Nell appears as the antagonist, Dr. Alistair Reed — a British archaeologist obsessed with uncovering a mythical relic.

Set in the whimsical yet mysterious village of Akashgunj, the story unfolds five years after the events of Rainbow Jelly. When Ghoton discovers a legendary artifact known as Pokkhirajer Dim (“The Celestial Egg”) — believed to be forged by cosmic forces — he offers it to Batabyal in exchange for his mentorship. Drawn by the relic’s strange energy, Batabyal and his pupils embark on experiments that blur the line between mathematics and magic.

As their discoveries begin to warp reality, they unleash ancient powers buried within the relic — drawing the attention of Dr. Reed, who seeks to claim it for his own. What follows is a visually rich and emotionally layered odyssey through temple ruins, dreamscapes, and quantum distortions, as Ghoton must conquer his fears and reconcile science with folklore to save his village.

A fusion of Bengali mythology, scientific wonder, and coming-of-age adventure, Pokkhirajer Dim reaffirms Soukarya Ghosal’s gift for crafting imaginative tales that bridge fantasy and philosophy. Released theatrically on 13 June 2025, the film invites audiences to question where logic ends — and magic begins.
