Narain meets and falls in love with a village girl named Yashodara. They soon get married and move in with narain’s brother and sister in law and their little son Sonu. Yoshodara immediately takes a liking for Sonu and both become every close, where she spends almost all her time taking care of the little boy. Things turn for the worse when one day Sonu tragically dies. Yashodara is devastated at this and goes into depression nothing seems to get her into logic. Soon Yashodara gets pregnant and gives birth to a baby girl named Asha. Yashodara however, is unable to forget Sonu and goes insane in his memory. She is then sent to a mental institution while Asha is left with Narain’s sister in law. The girl is then sent abroad for her studies. She then gets married and has a son of her own. When she returns to meet her family, she sees her mother’s plight holding a log of wood pretending it to be Sonu. Asha then does something unimaginable. The film is directed by K Vishwanath and produced by P Malikarjuna Rao. The star cast includes Jeetendra, Vinod Mehra, Jayapradha, Asrani, Agha, Arvind Deshpande, bharat Acharekar, Aruna Irani, Rekha Kamat and Renu Joshi.
