The film revolves around the life of freedom fighter Sardar Patel. As a young boy he found the whole idea a independence a joke and ridiculed Gandhiji and his ideologies. One day however all that changes when he is introduced to Gandhiji by his brother. He hears him speak and becomes his devoted follower. He then starts many satyagrahas on his own and even supports the decision of India’s partition. Althogh initially he doesn’t get along with Nehru, he later joins forces with him after the Gandhiji is shot dead. His way of handling various situations during partition are hailed.
The film is directed by Ketan Mehta and produced by H M Patel. The music is composed by Vanraj Bhatia. The screenplay is written by Vijay Tendulkar and the dialogues are written by Hriday Lani. The star cats of the movie includes Paresh Rawal,Annu Kapoor, Benjamin Gilani, Srivallabh Vyas and Tom Alter.
