Ratan Kumar lives a humble life with his wife Pushpa and son Sunder. He struggles to make ends meet and thus when an opportunity comes to earn money he grabs it. Gangster Balram, to retrieve a bag full of diamonds offers him an illegal job. Ratan manages to get the work done but decides to keep the bag for himself. This angers Balram so he sets Ratan’s house on fire. Thinking his family is dead, he flees from the site
devastated. Soon he is found by doctor Saigal who takes him to Maharani. He begins working for her. Soon Sunder is taken as her long lost son and she believes it. Years pass by and Pushpa resurfaces. When Maharani comes to know of the real truth, she tries to kill Ratan, who has now changed his name to Ramesh. The Maharani dies while trying to kill Ramesh and asks Sunder to take revenge from Ramesh. Little does Sunder know that he is after his own father’s life. Soon he learns the truth and decides to end Balram’s rein of terror. The film is directed by
Nasir Hussain and produced by Mohammad Riaz. The music is composed by R D Burman and the story and screenplay is by Sachin Bhowmick. The star cast includes Sanjeev Kumar, Sunny Deol, Rajeev Kumar, Jayapradha, Rati Agnihotri, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Rajendranath, Tariq, Amrish Puri and Tanuja.
