Amruta Khanvilkar has amassed a huge fan following not just in Marathi cinema but also in Bollywood with her effortless performances. The Pondicherry actress whose last release was Chandramukhi surprised everyone playing the titular role. The grace with which she danced her way into audiences’ hearts is commendable.

Speaking about the Marathi film Amruta said, “Chandramukhi' is a very special film for us. The way we are getting the response from the audience is truly amazing. I think this is the kind of film that will excite the Marathi audience as well as the non-Maharashtrian audience. It is something that has come from the root of Maharashtra. Lavani is the pride and heritage of Maharashtra. So, for people who want to know what about Lavani and 'Lok Kala' for them I think this is the film.”

Speaking of comparisons between her and her character Chandra Amruta said, “The character of 'Chandra' is very timid and I am a very 'Bindass' girl. For me to get into this character my director Prasad Oak helped me a lot. Because he is not only a great director but also an amazing actor. He kind of held my hand and step by step he made me go deeper and deeper into this character. I think it was very challenging to get the skin of this character 'Chandra'.” She concludes, “one similarity between me and chandra is that both are extremely mad for the love of their art and their life.”

Chandramukhi released on 29th April 2022 and also stars Adinath Kothare in the lead.
