Rasika Dugal stressed the value of ‘Little Thomas’s’ three New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) nominations, citing the festival’s discerning audience.
According to The Hindu, the Anurag Kashyap-produced film stars Gulshan Devaiah and Rasika Dugal in lead roles. While the film has earned nominations for three categories namely Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Debut Feature.
Rasika Dugal Expresses Joy
While the lead actress of the film, Rasika Dugal, said, ‘I am quite grateful that the audiences are noticing as well as appreciating our work. Also, I am looking forward to the audience’s response when the festival organisers screen the film. The audience’s presence at the film festival is discerning. It is always very overwhelming to receive their view of the work.
While Gulshan Devaiah, the male lead of the film, said, ‘I am very happy and excited with the nomination that the NYFF’s jury considered me as the Best Actor for Little Thomas. Looking forward to the festival and hoping to win the award for Best Actor.’

About Little Thomas
As per the film’s synopsis, ‘The film takes place in the early backdrop of the 1990s in Goa. Its plot follows Thomas, essayed by Hridansh Parekh, the only child of his parents, who insists on having a little brother. One day, someone tells him that in order to get a baby brother, his parents will have to kiss. Since his quarrelling parents won’t kiss any longer, little Thomas takes it upon himself to make them do the yucky act.'
Ranjan Singh and Anurag Kashyap back the film. Meanwhile, the NYIFF’s official lineup also features Anurag Kashyap’s directorial ‘Kennedy.’
