Cherukuri Ramoji Rao was an Indian businessman, media entrepreneur, and film producer who lived from 16 November 1936 until 8 June 2024. He was the head of the Ramoji Group, which also owned the movie production business Usha Kiran Movies, the Eenadu daily, the ETV Network of TV networks, and the largest film production facility in the world, Ramoji Film City. Margadarsi Chit Fund, Dolphin Group of Hotels, Kalanjali shopping mall, Priya pickles, and Mayuri Film Distributors are some of his other commercial endeavors. For his contributions to Telugu film, he has won the National Film Award, five Nandi Awards, and four Filmfare Awards South. India's second-highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan, was given to him in 2016 in recognition of his achievements in journalism, writing, and education.
