Amitabh Bachchan Starrer Indrajeet - A Tale Of Vengeance And Justice In 1991 Bollywood Action Movie

The movie Indrajeet, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Prada, was released in 1991. It is a Bollywood action movie directed by K V Raju. In addition to the lead roles played by Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Prada, the supporting cast includes Kumar Gaurav, Neelam, Saeed Jaffrey, Ajinkya Deo, Ashutosh Gowariker, and Kader Khan. The movie is a remake of the director's own Kannada movie, movie Bandha Muktha.

The movie's music is composed by R D Burman, with lyrics by Gulshan Bawra. Vijay Vijay is the producer of the movie. Unlike other movies by Amitabh Bachchan, the movie had a relatively low budget, partly due to financial issues after the producer Ramesh Bahl's death.

Neelam did not charge any fee for her role in this movie. The story revolves around Indrajeet, an honest police officer who falls in love with Shanti. Things take a turn when Indrajeet has to arrest Shanti's father, leading to complications between them. After serving his duty, Indrajeet raises his daughter Neelu, who marries Vijay. However, Shanti's brother seeks revenge and fatally attacks Neelu and Vijay.

Now, Indrajeet sets out to avenge the deaths of Neelu and Vijay. The movie marked Amitabh Bachchan's third collaboration with Ramesh Bahl, following the movie Kasme Vaade and the Pukar.

The movie had an average performance at the box office.
