Do You Know Why Saira Banu Was Upset And Angry On Dilip Kumar And When?

Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu’s wedding was one unique and one of its kind. He was 25 years older than Saira Banu, therefore people had predicted that the marriage wont last too long due to the age difference between the two. But they proved the world wrong. Their love for each other was ever lasting and was a perfect example of a happy marriage.

Saira Banu has been in love with Dilip Kumar since she was about 8 to 10 years old. At a young age she had set her heart on the handsome actor Dilip Kumar. She was the daughter of stage and film actress Naseem Banu. Once when she was about 12 years old, she had attended a filmy party with her mother where she had first time met Dilip Kumar and she couldn’t take her eyes off him. At that time Dilip Kumar was 37 years old. He treated her like a little kid, took her on his lap like one would take a little doll. For Saira Banu it meant the world to her for all the attention she got from Dilip Kumar as he was her idol and that day was one of the happiest days in her life. 

From then on she secretly fell in love with Dilip Kumar but had not expressed it to anyone as she knew he was much older than her. When her mother Naseem Banu received an invitation from Dilip Kumar for the premier of his film Mughal-e-Azam, Saira Banu’s happiness knew no bounds.  She was 15 at that time. She had decked herself up beautifully and looked very pretty. She had worn her most expensive saree and she went along with her mother for the premier of the film. Her only desire was to see Dilip Kumar. 

The premier was a big hit and was conducted with lot of fanfare at Mumbai’s most famous cinema theatre Maratha Mandir.  All top actors directors, were presented at the premier of the film but Saira Banu had her eyes looking out only for Dilip Kumar and she was anxiously and eagerly waiting to meet him in person and with a hope that he notices her too. She was very disappointed and heart broken that though the film had him starring in the lead role, he did not attend the premier.  Very upset, she had returned home with her mother!. 

During the premier, his film producer and director K Asif and Dilip Kumar had an argument hence he had not attended the premier.  With Dilip Kumar’s absence from the premier, quite a few people and his fans were upset and disappointed too, but Saira Banu was most affected by it. She was very angry on Dilip Kumar from that day onwards as she had put in lot of efforts to dress up, deck up to attend the premier with a hope that she would win his heart too but it was a day of despair for her.
