Do You Know Why The Famous Film Maker V Shantaram Removed Jeetendra From His Film Company?

We all know that Jeetendra was given his first break in the film, ‘Geet Gaya Patharon Ne’ by V. Shantaram. After which his film Farz became a hit and he became a super star. But you would be amazed to know that V. Shantaram was once very annoyed on Jeetendra and he asked him to leave his film company RajKamal Films. He was thrown out of the company. It so happened that V. Shantaram did remove him from his company but he gave him a role in his film and made him a hero!

Jeetendra was from a business family and his father kept relations with affluent rich people. He was into the artificial jewelry business. Jeetendra had to frequent film studios to sell and deliver the artificial jewelry to the film makers. In the film industry his father’s jewelry was pretty much in demand and many big film makers purchased them.

Once Jeetendra reached Raj Kamal film studio and he met the owner of the studio, V. Shantaram. During their conversation, Shantaram thought Jeetendra could be an actor with his good looks and personality. He was impressed with Jeetendra and he asked him to join his film company and said in the beginning he would have to work hard and extra. He told him as he starts progressing in his company with his hard work he will also train him for acting.

Jeetendra who was a salesman for his father’ s jewelry at the film studio was very happy with this offer. He immediately started dreaming of becoming a hero and acting in the films. On the first day of his work itself, he had got reprimanded by V. Shantaram for arriving late on the sets. Jeetendra in his interview stated that his first break in the film was that of an extra and he had reached late for his first shot.  All other actors in that scene were ready with their makeup and Jeetendra having reported late was yet to get ready and had made the unit wait. When V. Shantaram got to know of this, he scolded Jeetendra and immediately asked him to leave his company. Shantaram was very upset but Jeetendra kept requesting him but he sent him out of the sets.

He informed his father about the incident and got his father’s displeasure too for behaving irresponsible. Jeetendra was in a dilemma. One side was V. Shantaram’s anger and the other side was his father’s anger and disappointment in him.  He did not sleep the entire night and he woke up at 4 am, got ready, requested the make-up man to do his make up and he reached Shantaram’s office at 5 am. Seeing Jeetendra at his office early morning, he was also surprised and before V. Shantaram could even say anything to him, Jeetendra started weeping profusely and with folded palms asked him to forgive him and that in future he would take his work seriously and with dedication. He was forgiven by V.Shantaram. From then on Jeetendra put his heart and soul into his work , worked hard and was determined to do his best. V.Shantaram was very happy to see his dedication, he offered him the role of the hero in ‘Geet Gaya Pattharon ne’ which went on to become one of the biggest super hit films. Rest is history. Jeetendra was an icon in Hindi films.
