His Wedding Was A Ticket To ‘London Vacation’ For Amitabh Bachchan

Pre wedding shoots, wedding preparation, venue bookings, big budget events and much more celebrities plan for a wedding! Case was not the same for Amitabh Bachchan and contrary to that, he finished the rituals off in a hurry to fly off to a vacation with his love and newly wedded wife Jaya Bhaduri Bachchan!

 

Amitabh Bachchan never thought to marry Jaya Bachchan in 1973; he rather would have taken more time to marry her. Due to some unusual circumstance, he had to take a quick decision of his marriage.  His first hit Zanjeer was released in 1973. He had promised his friends of a London trip together if the movie was a hit. Zanjeer succeeded to break the records on box office and he was ready to fly off to London with friends. His father Harivansh Rai Bachchan knew of the love affair he was in with Jaya during the time, hence he asked him if Jaya was accompanying him to London vacation. On knowing that they were planning to go there together with friends, he said he could go to London accompanied by Jaya only if they two are married!

 

Amitabh and Jaya decided to marry the very next morning and catch the flight to England at night. Amitabh dressed up in Indian traditional, Jaya too wore a very regular Indian traditional saree and they tied a knot, all in hurry. Only they knew that their attention was not the marriage, but their first international trip! Yes, London was the first ever international vacay for Amitabh as well as for Jaya. And thus, love knotted the two forever! The two look amazing together till date- both on screen and off screen. Amitabh and Jaya have also worked together in films like Sholay, Silsila, Abhimaan, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and more.
