Amitabh Bachchan starrer Hum was released in 1991. The movie was directed by Mukul S Anand. Rajinikanth, Govinda, Kimi Katkar, Deepa Sahi, Shilpa Shirodkar, Danny Denzongpa, Annu Kapoor, Anupam Kher and Kader Khan also played important roles in the movie.


Success Of Amitabh Bachchan Starrer Hum:

At the time of its release in the early 90s, Hum was one of Amitabh Bachchan's biggest hits. The movie received seven nominations at the Filmfare Awards. It won four awards, including Best Actor for Amitabh Bachchan and Best Choreographer for Chinni Prakash for the song 'Jumma Chumma De De'. The music director of the movie was Laxmikant-Pyarelal and the lyricist was Anand Bakshi.

The storyline of 90's Blockbuster Hum By Amitabh Bachchan:

Hum was inspired by the 1987 album Akwaba Beach. Talking about its story, Tiger, angry at the death of his father at the hands of Bakhtavar, swears to kill him. He tries to kill him but Inspector Giridhar stops him and drives Tiger away. Later, Giridhar steals Bakhtavar's house and kills Bakhtavar's family. Tiger gets false blame for all these incidents, and Tiger leaves his love and past goes away somewhere with his two brothers and starts a new life.


Interesting Facts Behind Hum:

In the movie Hum, the megastar of the century Amitabh Bachchan was in the lead role. In this movie, Amitabh initially played the role of Tiger and later played the role of Shekhar. Both of them were the same person. To change his identity in the movie, Amitabh changes his name along with the city. Kimi Katkar, one of the popular actresses of the 80's and 90's, was seen opposite Amitabh in this movie. Kimi played the character of Jumma in this movie. The song 'Jumma Chumma De De' was shot with Kimi. People still remember the song by word and rhythm of it. This movie was later revised and made in Tamil with Rajinikanth. The character of Denny in the Tamil movie was similar to the Hindi one and was played by South actor Raghuvaran. The movie was a big hit in Tamil.


In 1991, Amitabh Bachchan's movie Hum was the only movie that performed well. His other movies Ajooba, Indrajit, and Akela were also released in the same year, although these movies failed to prove their magic on screen.
