Revenge And Redemption Along The Banks Of The Ganges A Review Of Ganga Ki Saugandh 1978

We welcome you to another new episode on Amitabh Bachchan's filmy journey. Today we will talk about his film Ganga Ki Saugandh, an action drama film starring Amitabh in the main lead with Rekha, Amjad Khan, Pran, I S Johar, Bindu and Anju Mahendra. 

The music for this film is rendered by Kalyanji Anandji. Story and screenplay by Nabendu Ghosh, Asgar Mirza, Wajahat Mirza and Santosh Vyas. The story goes as this . Thakur Jaswant Singh essayed by Amjad Khan who is a wicked Zamindar of a small town. He has a heated argument which ends up with a fight with a simpleton Jeeva (Amitabh Bachchan) .  Thakur Jaswant Singh throws Jeeva and his old mother out of the village . 

To get back to his revenge Jeeva joins Dacoit gang and becomes a dacoit. The star cast was good . The songs and the story was good and the film went on to become a super hit. The entire shooting was shot in Rajasthan . During the shooting one of the fans started misbehaving with Rekha. Amitabh Bachchan who always respected women couldn't stand it and he came to Rekha's rescue and hammered the man who was making pass at Rekha . Media covered this incident too .
