'SHAKTI' Amitabh Bachchan And Dilip Kumar's Showdown An Iconic Crime Drama with Twist

This movie is a crime drama action film directed by Ramesh Sippy, produced by Mushir Alam, stars Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Raakhee, Smita Patil, Amrish Puri and Anil Kapoor in a special appearance. Released on 1st of October 1982.

We talk about the film that begins with a  flashback where Ashwini Kumar (Dilip Kumar) a retired Police officer, lives with his wife Sheetal (Raakhee) & their son Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan). Ashwini Kumar is shown waiting at the Railway Station waiting for his grandson Ravi (Anil Kapoor) to arrive. He wants to become a police officer when Ashwini Kumar tells him his life story.

Vijay is kidnapped when he is small by a gangster J.K.Verma( Amrish Puri) who tries to strike a deal with Ashwini Kumar , being an honest Officer refuses the deal which Vijay overhears and starts hating his father, and is hurt, and  grows up to be a criminal. On the way he meets Rima (Smita Patil) they fall in love and have respect for each other and they start living together. She gets pregnant and gives birth to a son Ravi.

Ashwini Kumar is given the task to track Vijay which he does , shoots him ,runs towards him teary eyed. Vijay asks for forgiveness but dies. Ashwini Kumar quits his job. Ravi in the end still decides that he wants to become a police officer.
