The Great Gambler A Twist Of Fate And Brotherhood Of Amitabh Bachchan

We welcome you to a new episode of Amitabh Bachchan’s filmy journey marks his super hit films such as The Great Gambler. A 1979 crime action film directed by Shakti Samanta starring Zeenat Aman and Neetu Singh along with Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles. The film is based on a novel Great Gambler by Vikramaditya. 

The story is based on international gangsters and secret agents from different countries dealing in intelligence servicing agencies with their undercover operations. The film spent high production costs as most of the shooting was in outdoor international locations. The film was mainly shot in Cairo, Lisbon, Venice, Rome and few scenes shot in India as well in the tourist locations of Goa. The film achieved box office earnings initially and was widely appreciated for its direction and cinematography. 

The story is about Jay who is an expert gambler and has an excellent memory due to which he rarely lost a game. With his winning skills, he drew attention from underworld Don Ratan Das who is keen on hiring him as his personal player to win large amounts from rich people by influencing them. Jay agrees to play for want of a good income and unknowingly gets into trouble with the government officials and gets into the underworld activity of targeting the secret blue prints of top secret military laser weapon that can hit a target of 50 miles.

He has a duplicate who looks like him and as Amitabh Bachchan plays the double role of inspector Vijay who is assigned to handle this case. The film involves Jay and Vijay, and story gets a twist with mistaken identity, some dance scenes wth club dancer. The story ends on a happy note when it is revealed that Jay and Vijay are actually long lost brothers.
