A simple ordinary man is on a mission to wipe out poor living conditions and provide a decent roof over the heads of the city’s underbelly, which is usually living in the slums. Aasra, is the true story of a social activist called Sadanand Shetty, who worked hard day and night to give the slum dwellers their rights.
Sadanand’s passion for helping the downtrodden of the society started with his mother’s teachings of not just simply praying but always helping people in need. He had immense support and influence from his mother to carry out his mission of changing the society into a positive place.
He tackled the atrocities from the stronger section of the society and their greed to fill their pockets and not be bothered by the underprivileged of the society.
Sadanand’s mission was not only to give them a roof over their head but to also provide them with safety and sanitation. The slum dwellers had a very disorderly and unruly lifestyle that was very difficult to reverse but Sadanand wouldn’t give up so easily.
Aasra is directed by Raj Sagar and produced by Sadanand Krishna Shetty. The music is composed by Abdhesh Goswami.
