Jyotibhaskar Chaturvedi is a well-known astrologer and his predictions have always turned correct. But many people who don’t believe in astrology disregard his words. This happens when he meets a doctor who is going to perform a surgery on a woman. He tells the doctor that he wishes him luck for his operation but his patient will not make it alive. The doctor is taken aback by his words and brushes it off as a joke. As the surgery comes to and end, the doctor realizes that Jyotibhaskar was right and the woman dies. The astrologer lives with his wife and son Nandu, who he wants to marry off with a girl named Indu. Nandu tells his father that he is in love with a girl named Sushma and will only marry her. That is when his father tells him that he is destined to marry twice. His first wife will die within 11 months of their marriage and he will re marry. Now Nandu is in a mortal dilemma weather to marry Indu first and then marry Sushma or to rubbish off the astrological claims and just marry Sushma. The film is directed by Amol Palekar and produced by Amol Palekar and Jayant Dharmadhikari. The music is composed by Jaidev. The cinematography is by Debu Deodhar. The star cast includes Amol Palekar, Deepti Naval, Devika Mukherjee, Shreeram Lagu, Dina Pathak and Vinod Mehra.
