Ashok and Gauri lose their mother at a young age, where he is 5 years old and his sister is just a baby. They are left with their father Moti Ram who is unable to care for them and thinks they are a burden. A village widow named Kamla comes to his rescue and offers to help out. Thus Moti Ram trusts Kamla with his children and leaves for Bombay to work and promises to send money for them every month. Once gone, Kamla begins to show her true colors. She starts hiding some money from what Moti sends and neglects the children. She now shows a lot of
love and care for her own son Raju, which she earlier did not. Moti comes to know after few years that his son Ashok is a brilliant student and stood first in his class as a 9 year old. Moti now wants to bring his children to Bombay to live with him and goes to meet them. Kamla gets the news and makes a run with the secret stash but Raju has already taken off with it. The film is directed by Satyen Bose and produced by Ashok. The music is composed by O P Nayyar. The star cast includes Shreeram Lagu, Rajesh, Raju, Leela Chitnis, Bittu, Ravi, C S Dubey, Sunder Purohit, Jr Mehmood, Dev kumar, Narendranath, Sabia, Dulari, Bindu, Urmila Bhatt and Tanuja.
