Shalini lives with her brother Shyam and is soon to get married to Surajbhan. However she wants her brother Shyam to get married first as then he would have someone to take care of him. Shyam unfortunately hates women after a former lover betrayed him and has become an . Shalini refuses to get married until he changes his mind. Seeing no other way out, Shyam gets married to a woman named Bindiya and Shalini throws him a lavish reception. Little does Shalini know that Shaym is in fact single and Bindiya is only pretending to be his wife, so that Shalini can finally get married before him. The film is directed by Tarun Bhatt and produced by Tarun Dutt and Arun Dutt. The music is composed by R D Burman.The screenplay is written by Gulshan Nanda and Ram Govind.
