"Bommai" is a Tamil romantic thriller film scripted and directed by Radha Mohan and produced by Angel Studios. It stars S. J. Suryah and Priya Bhavani Shankar in the central roles and traces an unconventional love story that blends fantasy with reality.

“Rajkumar” (SJ Suryah) is a calm and well-disciplined person who works for a mannequin factory. His life gets an unusual twist when he spots a doll that looks similar to his childhood friend, a man he loved a lot and lost. He starts hallucinating, and the mannequin appears to him as a real woman. He falls in love with her. He gives her a name, addresses her, and builds an emotional life around her. The doll, with a peculiar mark on its face, becomes the center of his life.

Trouble starts when the factory ships the doll to a city showroom. Finding it unbearable to be separated from it, Rajkumar trails it there. In order to be near the mannequin, he becomes a salesperson at the showroom. From this point on, his fixation intensifies, driving him to risky extremes. As he remains locked in his fantasy, reality continues to elude him. His actions turn unstable, and this one-way love begins to take its toll on his mental balance. The narrative slowly reveals how much he is prepared to do for his fantasized romance, culminating in sinister events.

"Bommai" strives to venture into a strongly psychological tale of solitude, recollections, and love. The beginning is gripping, and S. J. Suryah is intense and intriguing in his portrayal. However, the latter part goes downhill. The emotional tie becomes dreary, and one has prolonged music sequences along with poetic lines straining the audiences' patience level. The production values of the film are good, and Yuvan Shankar Raja's haunting background score lends substance to a couple of crucial moments. But generally, the climax of the film is disappointing, and the story is not as emotionally rich as it is in the initial stages.
