Capmaari

“Capmaari” is a 2019 Tamil adult comedy film directed and written by S. A. Chandrasekhar. The movie stars Jai, Vaibhavi Shandilya, and Athuly Ravi in lead roles. The movie revolves around the life of an IT professional Jai, whose life goes awry, in a crazy, funny ride, amidst unexpected relations and perplexed misunderstandings.

The movie begins with “Jai” sharing a train compartment with a beautiful young woman named Jeni. They get talking, have beers together, and before long, their teasing flirtation becomes physical. Two years pass, and fate reunites them in Chennai, and for reasons they cannot quite understand, they choose to marry. Meanwhile, Jai’s colleague “Varsha” secretly admires him, though she never openly confesses her feelings.

One night, after office, Jai drops Varsha home. At home, they drink beer, get drunk, and are physically intimate. When Jai returns home at midnight, Jeni gets furious and begins suspecting that Jai is having an affair with Varsha.

The situation worsens when Varsha enters Jai’s house claiming that she is pregnant, leaving everyone shocked. Jeni contemplates divorce, but her deep love for Jai compels her to forgive him repeatedly. In a dramatic turn, Varsha insists that Jai should be shared between her and Jeni. Angered by this proposition, Jai finally sends Varsha out of his house, declaring that he loves only Jeni.

But after a couple of years, it's found out that Jai has been keeping it a secret and dating girls and getting babies with them. When Jeni ultimately discovers this bitter truth, the movie changes to a light tone as she beats up Jai in anger.

"Capmaari" is a light-hearted, adult romantic comedy film that de-mythologizes love, deception, and dysfunctional complexities of modern relationships with a quirky, yet perceptive approach.
