"Chasing" is an action-crime Tamil-language film produced and directed by K. Veerakumar in 2021. Directed with Mathialagan Muniandy producing his first film as the director for Asia Sin Media, the production features Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Mathialagan Muniandy, along with Super Subbarayan.

The movie is based on Athira (Varalaxmi), a determined and courageous police officer who plays an active role in operations to eliminate criminal activity within the city. The movie opens with the abduction of a child during daylight hours. Athira enters the situation swiftly, foils the abductors, and rescues the victim, establishing herself as a proactive and fearless officer.

As the probe goes on, Athira finds a string to the operations: every rescue is linked to a broad web of drug activity and criminal organization. Her investigation leads her to many hot spots, and in the process she encounters peddlers, suspects of street-level crime, and rumors of something further up the chain triggering the activity. With each lead, Athira builds a chain of criminals that goes beyond the city.

Despite her aggressive approach and regular field operations, the mastermind remains unknown. The first half of the film is Athira's relentless pursuit, and the second half is the background of the kidnappings and the motive behind the lead villain. As she digs deeper, Athira is entangled in a web of deceit, where friends become suspects and every step forward poses personal and professional dangers.

Athira's mission evolves into a high-stakes game against the head of the syndicate, climaxing with a dramatic face-off that tests her resolve and sense of justice. Athira remains the driving force in the book, battling through action-charged car chases, interrogations, and moral dilemmas, to transform Chasing into a story of one woman's unwavering resistance to crime.
