Chaurya Paatam

Chaurya Paatham (2025) is a Telugu-language crime comedy drama, directed by Nikhil Gollamari and produced by Trinadha Rao Nakkina, under the Nakkina Narratives production company. The film features debutant lead actors Indhra Ram, Payal Radhakrishna, and Rajeev Kanakala in crucial roles. The story involves a group of unlikely people whose audacious plan to rob a bank goes off in an unexpected direction.

Vedanth Ram (Indhra Ram) is an aspiring filmmaker who wants to hit the big time but is struggling financially and getting rejected each and every time. Frustrated, but determined, he devises an unusual plan, robbing a rural bank in the quiet little village of Dhanapalli, while claiming to shoot a documentary. With his shabby cinematographer friend Lakshman and a motley crew that includes the erratic Bablu Kumar and Jack Dan, Vedanth sets off to carry out the robbery, believing it would be an easy, low-risk plan.

Upon reaching Dhanapalli, the crew transforms into a comedy of errors. They gradually discover that Dhanapalli is not what it appears to be and that its inhabitants are not innocent people. The characters' plans continuously fall apart and along with their old loyalties are increasingly angered by Vedanth. The company navigate the collision of greed, lies and things even worse. What began as a quick money-making scheme turns into a life-changing journey filled with moral dilemmas and shocking revelations.

Released on 25 April 2025, Chaurya Paatham is already giving the viewer a mix of rustic charm and excellent humour and unpredictable turns. The viewer should watch it alone for its original premise, its solid acting performances, and its ability to somehow intertwine comedy with suspense and jokes with morals to offer the viewer both entertainment and reflection.
