“Dragon” is a comedy-drama film directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and produced by AGS Entertainment. Pradeep Ranganathan, Anupama Parameshwaran, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and VJ Sidhu are the lead cast of this movie.
“D. Ragavan”, a poor yet introverted student in 2014, is rejected by his crush for being too well-mannered. Crushed, he transforms himself into the bad-boy Dragon and acquires a bad-boy image at AGS Engineering College. He fails again and again, amassing 48 arrears and leaving college.
After college, Dragon deceives his parents by pretending to have a job. When his girlfriend Keerthi leaves him for a stable future, he decides to prove himself. Inspired by a friend, he buys a fake degree, manipulates job interviews, and secures a high-paying IT job. Within a few years, he becomes successful, earns a luxurious lifestyle, and gets engaged to Pallavi, a wealthy businessman’s daughter.
But his track record catches up with him when Dean Mayilvahanan finds out his deception. He issues a three-month ultimatum to Dragon: pay off all 48 arrears or lose it all. Dragged back to college under cover, Dragon toils but is aided by Keerthi, now a lecturer in college. In the meantime, he uses a series of lies to his boss, family, and would-be bride while rushing to pass his exams.
Just before taking his last exam, he again cheats but soon finds out that his dishonesty has cost his friend Venkat a job at Google. Remorseful, Dragon confesses to his deception on his wedding day, turns himself in to the police, and serves six months in jail.
After he is released, “Dragon” becomes truthful, is employed as a food delivery agent, and resumes studies. Dean Mayilvahanan, being impressed by the change in him, offers his daughter Harini in marriage, providing Dragon with a new lease of life.
