Etharkkum Thunindhavan is an action thriller directed and written by Pandiraj, produced by Sun Pictures in 2022. The film features Suriya playing Kannabiran, a strict lawyer who turns into a dauntless vigilante to take on a deeply rooted pornography racket. Featuring Priyanka Mohan and Vinay Rai. The movie blends sentimental family drama with a gritty social message.

Kannabiran (Suriya) is a respected lawyer living with his parents in the village of Thennaadu. He marries Aadhini (Priyanka Mohan), a woman from the neighbouring village of Vadanaadu, where social ties between the two regions are tightly interwoven. Their peaceful life takes a dark turn when Aadhini’s friend Yazhnila becomes a victim of a horrifying abuse attempt linked to a sex trafficking and pornography ring led by Inba (Vinya Rai), the powerful and sadistic son of a minister.

As Kannabiran learns more about Inba's misdeeds, like surreptitious recordings of women and violation of personal moments, he tries to fight within the law. But when his attempts in the law court prove futile and his own family becomes a target, including the circulation of intimate videos of him and Aadhini, he takes the law into his own hands. Committed to putting an end to Inba, Kannabiran embarks on a mission to bring out and eliminate the racket, safeguarding the honour of hundreds of women victimised.

Etharkkum Thunindhavan is a riveting social thriller with emotional resonance and strong performances. Suriya performs a powerful and intense performance of acting as an individual compelled to give up faith in the system. The film is well proportioned between drama, action, and social message regarding women's safety and privacy. While it is intense and graphic at moments, the film is distinguished by its emotional content and uncompromising story. The movie closes with an innuendo that there can be a sequel, leaving the viewer wanting more.
