The story of Gustakhiyan revolves around the popular poet Sahir Ludhianvi and his secret love affair with Punjabi writer and poetess Amrita Pritam. The film is based in the 1940’s and is a biopic of the two writers of that time. The film highlights the ups and downs in their relationship and how they struggled to be with each other beating all the odds of society.
