This film is a crime thriller produced by Tarachand Barjatya for Rajashri Productions, directed by Satyen Bose, Music by Laxmikant- Pyarelal, starring Dharmendra, Raakhee, Rajendranath, Ajit, Leela Chitnis, It was a remake of a 1967 Bengali movie Jiban Mrityu and was a big hit at the Box Office.
Ashok Tandon( Dharmendra) works as a Bank Manager and is in love with Deepa(Rakhee). They both are to be married when unexpectedly he gets caught up in a theft and is sentenced to the Jail. Ashok requests Deepa to take care of his mother(Leela Chitnis). Years later when Ashok is released from the jail he finds that his mother has passed away and his lover Deepa is married and has relocated to another city. Ashok is an honest man who is befriended by Raja Ranbir Singh (Bipin Gupta) who gives him a new job and new identity named Bikram Singh . He now wants to find out the whereabouts of Deepa and his Bank colleagues who put him into this soup as he wants to take his revenge on them.
