“Kadhal Sadugudu” is a 2003 romance film by S. S. Chakravarthy and it stars Vikram, Priyanka Trivedi and Prakash Raj. The film centres on a village headman who disapproves of the growing romance between his daughter and her lover. Determined, the young couple sets out to win his approval and change his traditional views on love, embarking on a heartfelt journey to unite their hearts against all odds.

Chithambaram wants to be portrayed as a strong-willed man of his village who never budges on his resolutions. When his daughter Kausalya visits her ancestral temple town for a temple festival and ends up meeting Suresh there, they end up falling in love, setting into motion a tumultuous romance. Chithambaram often has clashes with Suresh without getting to know him, quickly judging and building an adversarial relationship. When Kausalya’s family discovers their loving secrets, they, too, plead with Chithambaram to let the two marry, but he remains unyielding.

When Suresh inquires about what could make Chithambaram happy, he snaps back that Suresh should drop dead. Finding that no amount of reasoning can convince them, Suresh decides to return to Madras. Kausalya is at risk from Ilavarasu, who tries to molest her. Feeling vulnerable, she longs to run away with Suresh, but he refuses to marry her without her father’s approval. When Chithambaram reaches the station, he listens to their discussion and decides to approve Suresh as his daughter’s lover.

Vikram, Prakash Raj, and Priyanka Trivedi feature in the romance drama "Kadhal Sadugudu." The movie follows a young couple as they fight to win over a headman in the village who is severe and disapproving of their relationship. The story, which finally conveys a message of acceptance and understanding, emphasizes the difficulties of tradition vs love through moving performances and emotional struggles.
