“Kalvan” is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language comedy film directed and written by P. V. Shankar. The film features G. V. Prakash Kumar, Bharathiraja, Ivana, and Dheena, and is a blend of emotions, adventure, and humour.

The story follows “Kemban” (G. V. Prakash Kumar) and “Soori” (Dheena), two small-time thieves living in Germalam village, near the Sathyamangalam forest. Kemban dreams of securing a forest department job, but he needs ₹2 lakhs to bribe his way in. Meanwhile, he falls for “Balamani” (Ivana), a final-year nursing student who initially dislikes him.

Kemban impresses Balamani by becoming a worker in an old-age home, where he encounters “Azhagar” (Bharathiraja), an old man who tends to escape the home on a regular basis. Balamani finds it easy to sympathize with Azhagar, and Kemban, seeing his chance, takes up Azhagar as his grandfather. In actuality, his scheme is evil; if Azhagar gets killed in an elephant attack, Kemban can get ₹4 lakhs in government compensation.

Kemban has a number of unsuccessful attempts to leave Azhagar in the woods, but Azhagar never gets hurt. To Kemban's annoyance, but it turns out that Azhagar is secretly saving them to assist Kemban in getting his dream job.

The next day, a tiger raids the village, and to the amazement of everyone, Azhagar saves a child boldly. Kemban knows that his scheme will never be successful and now has a change of heart regarding Azhagar.

At the same time, Soori informs Balamani of Kemban's true intentions, and she becomes angry. Kemban, having finally changed his ways, saves Azhagar from the jungle, showing all that he had indeed changed. Kemban marries Balamani, and Azhagar is welcomed as a member of their family.
