Birju, played by Bobby Deol is a carefree and happy-go-lucky boy living with his family in Himachal Pradesh. One day he sees a beautiful girl called Neha and falls in love with her innocence and beauty. She however ignores him and treats him like a immature child. Birju is upset and promises her that he will keep her happy and tries many ways to woo her. Soon Neha too starts to fall in love with Birju. They decide to get married but Birju’s father doesn’t think great of him. He think Birju is a good for nothing boy with no aims and goals in life. When he comes to know that Birju is in love with the school teacher’s daughter he is furious.

 

Birju lies to his father that Neha’s uncle is rich and will arrange for the wedding. So he steals from his father and says that her uncle gave the money. On the wedding day his father learns the truth and calls off the wedding. Hearing this Neha’s mother has a massive heart attack and is taken to the hospital. The doctor attending her falls for Neha and asks her mother for her hand in marriage and she agrees. Birju keeps coming to apologize but he is brushed off. Soon Birju’s family realizes his love for Neha and happily agree to the marriage.

 

The movie is directed and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The star cast includes Neha, Moushumi Chatterjee, Shammi Kapoor,Johnny Lever,Saurabh Shukla,Gopi Desai,Vijendra Ghatge,Amit Phadke,Manav Kaushik and Sushma Seth. The music is composed by Anu Malik and the lyrics are written by Rahat Indori. The cinematography is by Binod Pradhan.
