Gopi Krishnan, and Karan Aravind Kumar. Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, this film carries the features of a mature Tamil film meant for a discerning audience that combines elements of rural folklore with serious social issues. The film holds the promise of a combination of long, tense courtroom sequences and high-volume action. The cast includes a plethora of stars, most notably Suriya and Trisha Krishnan. There are also performances from Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada, Supreeth Reddy, and Yogi Babu. Cinematography is handled by G. K. Vishnu, while music is composed by Sai Abhyankkar. The film follows the life of Saravanan, whose inconspicuous small town is steeped in cultural traditions. Saravanan is a lawyer by day who fights real legal cases in a courtroom. By night, he fights the status quo by becoming a vague vigilante that represents the spirit of a local folk deity known as Karuppusamy. His vigilante life commences when he starts to United Colors of Benetton a world of corruption, caste-associated injustice, and lower-caste exploitation. As his vigilantism progresses, there develops a meaningful tension develops between the law and his vigilante. Saravanan must deal with the ramifications of his actions, especially concerning those whom he holds most dear. Suriya plays Saravanan with a strong measure of intellect balanced with pure intensity, having the ability to showcase Saravanan's intellect as a lawyer, along with his strength and physical abilities. Trisha Krishnan plays the role of an investigative journalist, partner-in-crime to Saravanan, grounding the film in emotional choices and moral choices for the audience. Indrans and Yogi Babu provide the humour and the empathy, for the most part, while the other two characters give authenticity and weight in a rural setting. Karuppu is set to hit screens for its Diwali 2025 release and has already created excitement for its teaser, all promising awesome action set pieces, rich visuals, and Suriya's ferocious double role. Response has already been positive - the film's festival audience has described a pace to the film, full of folklore or social commentary, along with high-energy sequences. Audiences will certainly want to go and support a film that is entertaining and thoughtful, and a must-watch for viewers who like important films and performance-driven films.
