Synopsis

Kastoori is a strong 2019 Marathi drama film. Vinod Kamble is the writer and director. The film stars Anil Kamble, Samarth Sonawane, and Shravan Upalakar. The story is about Gopinath, a very smart 14-year-old boy. He works in dirty jobs to help his family. He searches for a rare, beautiful scent to hide his reality. Gopinath is a bright student in school. He does very well in his Sanskrit class. But his family belongs to a low social caste. Gopinath must do manual scavenging work. She says that books will not feed them. Gopinath faces painful prejudice from society. He is meant to receive a school award. But he misses it because of his required post-mortem work. This event is a turning point for the young boy. He understands that scent cannot change his life. This film shows the resilience of the human spirit.
