Synopsis

“Kazhu Maram” is a Tamil drama film directed by Kottachi Annamagan, who also stars in the lead role with Pandi Selvam and Thirupachi Benjamin. The film is about “Kotachi”, a dedicated theater artist and poster designer from a village, who aspires to be a film director. He comes to Chennai and works for years in pursuit of getting an opportunity with his diligently worked out story. One day, a producer finally shows interest in Kotachi’s script but insists that another director should helm the project. Kotachi refuses, unwilling to give up his vision. Meanwhile, another aspiring producer, a friend of the first, offers to fund Kotachi’s film. This angers the original producer, who then tries to sabotage the project at every step. While Kotachi ba. The struggle story takes place as he fights to make it in the movie business. Will he win, or will his aspiration be ruined by the government? Kottachi Annamagan does the honours, presenting a sincere though unbalanced act. While good in certain instances, his performance is often stiff. The other actors do not contribute anything that would leave one in awe. Although there is an interesting setup for the sufferings of novice filmmakers, “Kazhu Maram” stumbles upon execution, and it is an adequate but non-memorable effortless through hindrances and betrayals, he is committed to producing his dream film.
