Lorni -The Flaneur (2022)

Adil Hussain plays Shem, an unemployed self-styled investigator with a keen feel of the streets who escapes Shillong's somnolence when he is requested to look into the disappearance of a valuable cultural artefact. He sets out on an emotional and mental trip that reflects his reality and the reality of Shillong while navigating winding alleyways and shadowy alleys. Shem travels around the remote city of Shillong in North East India, where there are severe racial tensions and a far more complex cultural identity than elsewhere in the nation. He manipulates the real and the conceivable, much like the prototypical flaneur, to further muddle the personal, the political, and the emotional.
