Love (2023) is a Tamil romantic thriller written, produced, and directed by R. P. Bala. It features Bharath Srinivasan and Vani Bhojan, and is an official remake of the 2020 Malayalam movie of the same title. The film centres on Ajay, a husband who, despite being in a tumultuous marriage to Divya, isn't prepared for a night of shocking violence and disturbing secrets. When surprise guests drop by, the boundaries of Ajay's reality begin to blur in a way that will confront Ajay with a deadly mystery that could shatter him.

Ajay and Divya are wrapped up in a passionate, yet fragile marriage. After one particularly vicious argument, shockingly, Ajay accidentally kills Divya. In a panic, he hides her body in the bathroom and considers taking his own life. This moment of crisis is interrupted by Vivek, Ajay's close friend, who comes bursting through the door in a state of emotional distress, completely unaware of the chaos surrounding Ajay. While Vivek is letting his heart speak to Ajay, he is distracted with panic and chaos cloaked in guilt, fear and confusion. Simultaneously, a third friend, Dani, shows up with pointless distractions and flirtation and is completely unaware of the carnage taking place next door.

In this episode, Divya's father, Radha Ravi, emerges unannounced, shocking Ajay and punctuating his panic deeper than he ever thought possible. Vivek and Dani must come up with ideas quickly, as they scramble to come up with a way to dispose of Divya's body without raising suspicion. Just when they think they've managed to keep the secret, Divya appears at the doorstep alive. Then confusion, how could she be there? Where is the body? In a haunting twist, Vivek and Dani suddenly vanish. The question becomes chilling: who hurt Divya? And what is the real truth behind the murderous night?

Love is a tense, thrilling mystery that will keep you guessing until the very end; claustrophobic in its scope, lurid twists and layered emotions immersing you in the mind of the character who you cannot escape. Watch it for its urgency, unpredictability, and how it turns a simple dispute into an unnerving lockluster cinemascope experience.
