Maanbumigu Parai confronts the continuing injustice of untouchability within the world of music. The ancient Indian drum, the Parai, symbolises both rich cultural heritage and caste-based oppression, as only those deemed "untouchable" are allowed to play it, reinforcing their marginalisation. Challenging this divide, the story envisions a future where music transcends caste, becoming truly universal.
