"Maaveeran" by Madonne Ashwin is an action fantasy movie produced by Shanti Talkies. The movie has Sivakarthikeyan, Aditi Shankar and Mysskin starring in it. A cartoonist in the movie begins hearing a voice following an accident, which attempts to persuade him to kill a corrupt minister.

"Sathya" (Sivakarthikeyan) is a comic book artist who produces a comic strip regarding a warrior named "Maaveeran" for the Tamil newspaper "Dhina Thee". He grapples with cowardice following the death of his father and lets others claim credit for his work. A sub-editor called Nila helps him, and they fall in love eventually. Sathya and his family are relocated by the government from their slum to a new high-rise apartment, but the building is plagued by severe construction defects.

‘Eshwari’, Sathya's mother, confronts the contractor, Dhanraj, who subsequently attacks ‘Raji’, Sathya's sister. While at his wit's end, Sathya tries to commit suicide but ends up getting a head injury, hence hospitalisation. Guided by an unknown voice, he brings to light the poor state of the apartment complex, and this earns him residents' support. “M. N. Jeyakodi” (Mysskin), a corrupt Housing Minister, and secretary Paramu mislead Sathya into assuring the world on live television that the building is safe, bringing shame and homelessness to his family.

Resolving to uncover the truth, Sathya risks everything, which results in a fight with Jeyakodi. The structure eventually comes tumbling down in the fight, but Sathya saves one child and ends up stuck there. Two years pass by when the apartment block is reconstructed and Sathya, though deprived of hearing senses but faster reaction times, is back on duty, with the mysterious voice popping up in his life again.

"Maaveeran" ends on an enthralling combination of heroism and sacrifice. Sathya's transformation from a coward to saviour is firm, and the climax brings emotional depth with a punch of inspiration.
