Naalaiya Theerpu

Naalaiya Theerpu is a vigilante action film by S.A. Chandrasekhar from 1992. It features Vijay, Keerthana, Easwari Rao and Radha Ravi. The film centres on Vijay, a courageous college student, who fights against the corrupt Arun Mehta and his malicious son Rocky to expose their crimes and seek justice.

Vijay, a college student working multiple part-time jobs to pay for his college fees and take care of his mother, is driven by a relentless pursuit of justice. He finds himself at odds with entitled Rani, daughter of a powerful politician and Rocky Mehta, the brash son of an equally influential industrialist, who sow discord on campus. When Vijay and his friends, led by the free-spirited Priya, begin to unmask them, Rocky’s bloodthirsty revenge is unleashed. He orchestrates Vijay’s firing and then ensures Vijay’s suspension. Vijay protests, drawing support from the Dean, but Rocky doubles down, setting Vijay up to take the fall for a staged crash. In the climax, Rocky is thwarted once again when Priya’s lawyer brother (Vijay Varma) defends Vijay in court.

After the police encounter humiliating them both, Vijay’s friends grill him on the whereabouts of his father, and it is revealed that his father is Arun Mehta, Rocky’s stepfather, who had left the family after abusing his mother. When Rocky abducts Priya, only then does Vijay go to extreme lengths, briefly doing the same to Rani as a hostage, so she will release her. The course takes a sinister turn when Rocky rapes Priya, kills her and exposes her body at the college campus. Vijay’s rage is on a national scale. Priya’s older brother advises him to pursue justice through the law. Determined Priya Vijay collects evidence and garners public attention, resulting in the arrests of Arun Mehta and Sundaramoorthy. Vijay finally catches Rocky, making certain that all the wrongdoers are punished.
