Naan Potta Savaal (1980) is a mystery drama under the direction of Puratchidasan. It features Rajinikanth, Reena, Pandari Bai, Major Sundarrajan and M. R. Radha. The film revolves around Ramu, a determined man who returns to his village to find out how his family fell into dismay. Together with Roopa, a strong woman, Ramu discovers dark secrets and unveils the masked villainy of landlord Arthanari to bring justice to their people.
Ramu (Rajinikanth) is a brave and courageous man returning to his village after some time away. He discovers, when he returns, that a cruel landlord, Ardhanari (M. R. Radha), has terrorised the village, forcing the village residents to suffer while causing them to lose their land. Ardhanari's evil did not discriminate against Ramu's family, and as a result, Ramu chooses to fight him. Ramu meets Roopa (Reena), who is a strong woman and a genuine fighter. Roopa's family also suffers after Ardhanari's evil forced them to lose their home and everything they owned. Roopa and Ramu work together to take down the landlord and bring peace back to the village.
Ramu exhibits bravery and cunning when faced with danger from the various attacks from Ardhanari's men. Ramu also finds out that a crooked doctor has formed a partnership with the landlord. Ramu and Roopa expose the doctor’s plans, organise the villagers to stand strong against Ardhanari. Ramu ultimately conquers Ardhanari in their climactic fight and frees the village from Ardhanari's oppression. The villagers rejoice in their freedom, and Ramu and Roopa begin life together.
Naan Potta Savaal is a highly engaging, action, and emotions that were performed by the cast members. Much like the theme of the film, courage and resilience, everything ran quite well in the film, and despite a few moderate issues regarding pacing, the results in the contingent were commendable.
