Patita (1980)

A young woman named Rajni is forced to become a sex worker after her parents pass away at a young age and she has no one to fall back on. She has no choice but to enter this frowned upon profession that has destroyed many lives. Three well educated and respected people fall deeply in love with her. One is a man who turns to an alcoholic and eventually dies, the second is a school teacher and the third is a college student. Rajni gives her heart to the naïve and innocent college student and inspite of his parents being against the union, they end up getting married. The film is directed by I V Sasi and produced by Mukul Roy and Ranjit Roy. The music is composed by Bappi Lahiri. The star cast includes Mithun Chakraborty, Vikram, Raj Kiran, Shammi, Raj Mehra, Shoma Anand, Viju Khote, Sujit Kumar, Madan Puri, Mac Mohan, Ramesh Deo, Bhavan Bhatt, Sulochana, Padma Khanna and Seema Deo.
