Pongala is an upcoming Malayalam action-crime thriller based on a real-life incident that happened near Kochi, Kerala. The film is both written and directed by A.B. Binil. The main cast comprises of very talented actors like Indrans, Sampath Ram, and Roshan Basheer, with Sreenath Bhasi taking on his first major role as an action hero.

The captivating story is set against the backdrop of the Vypin Harbour area and revolves around the real-life conflicts that were very intense in the lives of the people living there. The plot unravels the power struggles and fights between rival groups of the area and gives the audience a very raw and realistic view of the events happening there. With the tagline "Liberation of a coast," the movie's central theme is about the harsh battle for freedom and control in this coastal community.
