“Raajavamsam” (2021) is a Tamil action romantic comedy film directed and written by K. V. Kathirvelu and produced by Chendur Film International. The movie stars M. Sasikumar, Nikki Galrani, and Radha Ravi in leading roles. Kannan (M. Sasikumar) is a successful IT professional with a high-profile foreign project. He returns to his village to meet his large joint family and his prospective bride, Gayathri (Nikki Galrani).

But things go awry when all of the arranged marriages fall through. Adding insult to injury, a neighbouring patriarch asks Kannan to marry both his daughters. Baffled and under pressure, Kannan rushes back to his office only to be faced with a crisis there: his critical project is hacked, and the timeline is cut from three months to 30 days. Kannan persuades his worried CEO that he will work twice the hours and get things sorted out.

Disregarding the work crisis, Kannan returns to his village, claiming that he is already in love with a coworker at work, easily sidestepping the pressure from his family. His family, taking it seriously, arranges a betrothal with Gayathri, who resists initially but finally gives in. Subsequently, it is revealed that Gayathri, adopted by the family living next door, had always had a crush on Kannan. They marry with great pomp and circumstance, leaving personal happiness ahead of everything else, even while Kannan's high-stakes professional venture remains in doubt.

“Raajavamsam” tries to tell a story about the importance of family, love, and values but often comes across as absurd and removed from reality. The film struggles with crass humor, unbelievable plot twists, and melodramatic plot turns. For all the good intentions and occasional nicety, the script is insensitive and therefore gets monotonous for modern-day audiences in search of new kinds of stories.
