"Saamy" directed by Hari action thriller film. Features Vikram, Trisha, and Kota Srinivasa. A dishonest police officer who accepts payments from local criminals and politicians to support their illicit activities is the subject of the movie. He starts to see things differently, though, after falling in love with a woman, which makes him face his past behaviour and try for atonement.

Aarusaamy, aka Saamy, arrives in Tirunelveli city as a wannabe-drunk goon for two days, head-tiltingly scanning the socio-political scenario. When he notices a pickpocket posing as a policeman, he intervenes and gets himself introduced as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). Saamy licenses police to operate as they see fit, provided they don’t kill or injure innocents, resulting in less crime. In order to come close to indistinguishable Indian politician Perumal Pichai, he rates a corruption act. Saamy woos Bhuvana, the daughter of a no-nonsense government servant.

Though Bhuvana first mistakes Saamy for a crook, the two become romantically involved. Things get heated when Saamy demolishes Perumal’s gas station after an emergency-related crime. Saamy, with whom Bhuvana grows closer, is candid about his backstory and how he came to be an upstanding law enforcement officer. As their relationship develops, the unassuming Perumal has every intention of crashing Saamy’s wedding. Initially, Saamy is given orders to relocate to Dindigul, but he promises to destroy Perumal’s kingdom within one week, bringing the two into an inevitable showdown that ends with Chokkalingam’s death in a bomb attack orchestrated by Perumal. In the end, Saamy kills Perumal and covers up the murder, in effect fulfilling his father’s legacy.

Vikram and Trisha feature in the suspenseful action thriller "Saamy." It centres on a tough cop who, after falling in love, starts breaking the law. The film addresses themes of justice and atonement through dramatic action scenes, incisive conversation, and a strong performance by Vikram. It ends with a dramatic battle that solidifies Saamy's reputation as a fearless defender of the populace.
